The Time Machine - How to design the invisible

31 August 2011

Utopia is not a place of space but a place of time.
It is not the ideal island that does not exist, is the arrow shot to the extent possible.
Is the “machine of the future”, the intangible device that makes present the potential of the real in its incessant becoming of progress, already conceived by the human mind and the achievements of science.
Present and future can conjugate only in human mind, in this different reality which is like a parallel world to the everyday world, in which you enter through the ability to design the unseen, what is not, but is already written in coded signs on the tables of time.
This machine is moved by ideas: the volatile fuel, and not exhaustible in its fields, constantly move the wheel of time by canceling the classical logic of past-present-future sequence.

Travelers, driven by curiosity of Ulysses, they venture into the ocean of utopia, to shift the terms of reality, to redesign the configuration of the world.
Those who believe insurmountable the Pilars of Hercules, on which they themselves have marked the boundary of the “impossible”, remain still in ports.
In the long path of the Western speculation there are two meanings of utopia.
First is shown as the unreachable land, a perfect but unattainable realm, an imaginary world created by the imagination to escape from the ugliness of real life, therefore, a compensatory illusion or a sterile exercise.

The contemporary thought has recovered the more consistent tradition, the same that inspired Thomas More, the unfortunate High Chancellor of Henry VIII of England, who coined the term of utopia as a proposal for change and progress, as a foreshadowing of the possible.
It is a tradition started since Plato’s Republic, which had great success among the thinkers of the Renaissance, by the philosophers of modernity, Rousseau and Kant, and today in our time by the philosopher Ernst Bloch from the title of his work Spirit of Utopia.
Here utopia is critical of the state of things and driving force that move history.
With the immense development of the contemporary science and technology it can be said that the future has already begun.
The time machine runs so fast.
